Public Relations Professionals Needed for a North Lawndale Elementary School

Great things are happening at William Penn Elementary School and we need help sharing them! Our fabulous educators and administrators are thick in the process of transforming what has historically been one of Chicago's and Illinois' lowest performing elementary schools. While we are laser focused on the work of improving educational outcomes, we also recognize that part of the work is being able to better communicate our progress and tell our story.

This is where we need your help. We are looking for a person or people with expertise in communications and public relations to help us improve our school-to-family communication systems and share with our community and our school system the progress we are making. Specifically, we need help with improving and maintaining our website, creating and designing regular family and community newsletters, broadening our communication platforms, developing promotional materials, and crafting and promoting press release materials for local news outlets.

This could be a great opportunity for a retired PR professional who wants to apply a career's worth of skill to a good cause, a great real life project for a marketing course at a university, or a pro bono team culture building project for a public relations firm. Whoever takes up the call, just know that your work will have meaning and can make a major impact.
