    Description

    Fundraising Strategy & Leadership

    • Lead the design and execution of CARE’s annual fundraising plan, ensuring diverse and sustainable revenue streams.
    • Provide strategic oversight and measurable goals for events, campaigns, grants, and donor relations.
    • Inspire, recruit, and engage board members, volunteers, and community leaders to participate in fundraising efforts.

    Fundraising Events

    • Oversee planning, budgeting, promotion, and execution of CARE’s fundraising events (e.g., events, community drives, adoption events with fundraising / friend-raising components).
    • Coordinate with volunteers, vendors, and staff to ensure smooth execution and mission alignment.
    • Evaluate event success and recommend improvements.

    Online Campaigns & Digital Fundraising

    • Lead the design and execution of digital fundraising campaigns, including Giving Tuesday, Spring and Holiday appeals, Food drives, peer-to-peer campaigns, and social media drives.
    • Work with CARE’s communications/marketing/social media volunteers to create compelling stories, donor spotlights, and impact messaging.
    • Monitor online fundraising tools (Donor Perfect) and platforms for effectiveness.

    Donor Development & Stewardship

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners (Beagle/NC Brewery/Pittsboro Pet Supply, etc.).
    • Build and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs that strengthen loyalty and encourage recurring giving.
    • Work with the board to expand CARE’s donor network through introductions and ambassador roles.
    • Oversee systems to track donor history, preferences, and giving capacity.

    Grants

    • Guide grant strategy including research, writing, and submission processes.
    • Identify foundations, corporate giving programs, and government opportunities that align with CARE’s mission.
    • Ensure timely submission of proposals and reporting requirements.
