The Global Writers Project (GWP) is inviting applications for the volunteer position of Graphic Designer to join our Core Team for a 6-month term.
As part of GWP’s creative and communications team, you’ll help bring stories to life through compelling visuals that reflect our mission empowering writers and amplifying voices for social change.
Role Overview
Position: Graphic Designer
Duration: 6 Months (Volunteer Role)
Time Commitment: 5–8 hours per week (flexible and remote)
Core Responsibilities
- Create digital graphics and visual content for social media, website, and campaigns following the GWP Brand Guide.
- Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Programs Team to design event flyers, magazine layouts, and campaign visuals.
- Support publication design (e.g., newsletters, anthologies, and zines).
- Maintain consistent visual branding across all communication materials.
- Brainstorm and execute creative concepts for projects like Pass the Story, The Writer’s Mind, and upcoming campaigns.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong design skills with proficiency in Canva, or equivalent tools.
- Good understanding of layout, typography, and color theory.
- Basic knowledge of social media content formats (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Team player with creative initiative and enthusiasm for GWP’s mission.
