    Description

    Literacy Connections

The Literacy Connections program at Warren County Community Services, Inc. recruits volunteer tutors to teach adult basic education reading and comprehension skills to adults age 18 and over, inluding those whose native language is not English.

Tutors and students are matched within their communities and meet in local libraries and other public buildings. Virtual tutoring is also acceptable.

Volunteer tutors must attend a orientation, either in-person or virtually. Literacy Connections recommends that students and tutors meet once a week, for at least one year. All materials are provided free of charge.

    Volunteers are needed.

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

Adult learners are matched with a volunteer tutor who can provide personalized attention and support. The tutor-learner pairs can progress at their own pace, whether its reading, comprehension, or a better understanding of the English language when the time is right.

WCCS is committed to transforming lives through education-providing the tools and support necessary for people to achieve their personal, professional, and community goals.

Student/tutor pairs usually meet at the Warren County Libraries.
