    Description

    Immigration Psychology Partnerships (IPP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in San Diego, CA, dedicated to bridging the gap between mental health expertise and the needs of underserved immigrant communities. Our mission is to ensure that individuals in immigration proceedings and their families receive the mental health care they need, regardless of their ability to pay, by subsidizing therapeutic services and immigration evaluations provided by qualified, culturally sensitive clinicians.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a passionate Development Specialist to help strengthen and expand our fundraising efforts. This role is ideal for someone who believes in our mission of keeping families together and restoring hope through accessible mental health services. This position can be structured as volunteer or part-time with modest compensation, depending on candidate availability and organizational budget.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Fundraising Strategy & Planning

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including individual giving, grants, corporate sponsorships, and special events
    • Identify new funding opportunities and revenue streams
    • Create annual fundraising goals and timelines
    • Build and manage a fundraising calendar

    Grant Writing & Management

    • Research and identify foundation and government grant opportunities
    • Write compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry
    • Manage grant reporting requirements and deadlines
    • Maintain relationships with current funders

    Donor Relations

    • Cultivate relationships with individual donors and potential major gift prospects
    • Create and execute donor stewardship plans
    • Develop donor communications, including appeal letters, acknowledgment letters, and impact reports
    • Maintain donor database and ensure accurate record-keeping

    Communications & Marketing

    • Create compelling fundraising materials, including case statements, annual reports, and campaign collateral
    • Support social media and email marketing efforts that highlight impact stories
    • Collaborate with team to develop content that resonates with donors

    Events & Campaigns

    • Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns
    • Coordinate logistics, sponsorships, and volunteer engagement for fundraising activities

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Demonstrated passion for immigrant rights and mental health advocacy
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

    Preferred:

    • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related field
    • Grant writing experience with proven success
    • Familiarity with donor database systems (e.g., DonorPerfect, Bloomerang, Little Green Light)
    • Experience with Idealist, GrantWatch, or other grant research platforms
