    Organization: Young STEAMers

Location: Remote (with occasional local events in the Bay Area, CA)

    Commitment: Volunteer (5–10 hrs/week, flexible)

    About Young STEAMers

Young STEAMers is a San Francisco Bay Area nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring children to explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) and guiding them toward STEM careers. At Young STEAMers, we believe a child’s zip code should never limit their potential. We provide free, high-impact STEAM education to low-income Bay Area kids aged 4–14 and STEM career guidance for youth aged 14–24. Our hands-on programs blend academic content with creativity and real-world application to spark curiosity, build confidence, and expand opportunity. We engage local talent by training high school students as classroom aides and hiring college students as instructors, creating a full-circle model of community-led education.

    Position Overview

The Marketing & Fundraising Volunteer will play a key role in helping Young STEAMers share our mission, engage supporters, and secure resources to expand our impact. This role involves assisting with digital marketing campaigns, donor outreach, fundraising events, and community engagement efforts. • Assist with donor communications, including thank-you letters, campaign updates, and fundraising appeals.
    • Research grant, sponsorship, and fundraising opportunities to support organizational growth.
    • Help plan and promote fundraising events or campaigns.
    • Track marketing and fundraising activities, providing updates and recommendations to the team.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms (social media, Canva, Mailchimp, etc.).
    • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, or development.
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    What We Offer

    • Hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, communications, and fundraising.
    • Opportunity to build a professional portfolio and expand your network.
    • Flexible, remote-friendly schedule.
    • Meaningful engagement with a mission-driven organization making a difference for underserved youth.
    • The chance to help open doors so that talent, not circumstance, shapes a child’s future in STEAM.
