    Position Title:

    Volunteer Coordinator – Global

    Department:

    Operations- USA and NGO / Human Resources

    Location:

    Remote (Global Reach team)

    Position Type:

    Volunteer – Part-time (10–15 hours per week, flexible schedule)

    Position Summary:

    The Global Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, supporting, and managing volunteers around the world for Women of Color on the Move (WOCOTM). This role ensures that WOCOTM’s volunteer programs operate efficiently, align with our mission, and create meaningful engagement opportunities for individuals supporting women, children, and underserved communities.

    The ideal candidate is an organized, people-centered leader who can build community, manage systems, and communicate effectively across cultures and time zones.

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Recruitment & Outreach:
      • Develop and implement strategies to attract volunteers globally.
      • Partner with regional leaders, universities, and organizations to expand WOCOTM’s volunteer network.
      • Post and promote volunteer opportunities across digital and social media platforms.
      • Onboarding & Training:
      • Conduct orientation sessions and ensure all volunteers understand WOCOTM’s mission, values, and expectations.
      • Coordinate training schedules and distribute onboarding materials.
      • Maintain volunteer documentation and confidentiality.
      • Engagement & Retention:
      • Create recognition and appreciation initiatives to sustain volunteer motivation.
      • Support volunteers with check-ins, guidance, and conflict resolution.
      • Collect feedback to improve volunteer experiences and retention.
      • Management & Coordination:
      • Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, placements, and performance.
      • Collaborate with program directors to match volunteers with appropriate projects.
      • Develop schedules and ensure adequate coverage for global events and initiatives.
      • Reporting & Communication:
      • Prepare monthly volunteer reports summarizing global engagement metrics.
      • Communicate regularly with leadership on volunteer needs and impact.
      • Utilize digital tools (such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Airtable, or Monday.com) to manage global coordination.

    Qualifications:

      • Proven experience in volunteer management, human resources, or community organizing .
      • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
      • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
      • Tech-savvy with proficiency in virtual collaboration tools.
      • Ability to work independently and manage teams across multiple time zones.
      • Passion for WOCOTM’s mission of empowering women and underserved communities.
      • Multilingual skills are a plus (English required).

      • Must have a computer or tablet.

    Training & Support Provided:

      • Orientation to WOCOTM’s mission, policies, and volunteer management systems.
      • Ongoing support from the Human Resources and Operations teams.
