Food Distribution Volunteer

Overview:

Are you interested in giving back to your community? Our Mobile Markets are mobile food pantries where we serve 20-70 people at each distribution. With our refrigerated truck we are able to offer fresh produce, dry goods, bread, and hygiene products to different housing communities across Taunton and Brockton!

Our Mobile Market volunteers work directly with the community in distributing produce and shelf stable items to people who need them, in different locations through the Metro South area on a rotating monthly basis.

What you'll do:

• Meet our team at the designated location for the day's distribution
• Open the side doors and hand out produce, canned goods, dry food, etc. at the event
• Talk to people who attend the event, answering questions and explaining our mission
• At the end of the event, help with closing up the truck, cleaning up trash, etc.

What you need:

• Ability to lift up to 30lbs
• Comfortable standing on a step stool and handing food out
• An interest in people and reducing food insecurity

When & Where?

Events happen 7 times a month, between 11am-1pm or 4:30-5:30pm in both Brockton and Taunton at housing authorities.

This volunteer opportunity requires a background check.
