    Description

    Position: Bid Writer

    Compensation: 10% commission on the total value of successful bids secured

    Location: Remote or Hybrid (UK-based)

    Contract Type: Freelance/Contract

    Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced and persuasive Bid Writer to join our team. This role is pivotal in securing funding through compelling grant applications and tender proposals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in bid writing within the nonprofit sector and the ability to articulate our mission and programmes effectively to potential funders.

    You will secure unrestricted income to drive our strategic plan of Building the New Different for the next 3 years. You will have proven experience in business development, fundraising, or bid-writing, preferably within the charity, or not for profit sector. However, relevant experience with a track record will be considered.

    • You will work closely with our Finance Manager and Business Development Manager with a team of dedicated volunteers to achieve targeted financial goals to increase our reserves.
    • You must be highly organised, with exceptional time management and project management skills to meet stringent deadlines.
    • You must be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team to achieve organisational objectives.
    • You will be passionate about our mission and committed to ethical conduct and confidentiality in handling sensitive donor information
    • You will have demonstrated ability in planning and executing successful fundraising campaigns and events to generate income.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify suitable funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and government bodies.
    • Develop and write high-quality, tailored proposals and grant applications that align with funders' priorities.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure proposals accurately reflect organizational capabilities and objectives.
    • Maintain a calendar of submission deadlines and ensure timely delivery of all applications.
    • Track and report on the outcomes of submitted bids, incorporating feedback to improve future applications.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in successful bid writing, particularly within the nonprofit sector.
    • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
    • Strong research skills to identify and evaluate potential funding sources.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Familiarity with the funding landscape in the UK, including knowledge of key grant-making bodies.

    Compensation:

    This is a commission-based role, offering 10% of the total value of successful bids secured.
