Community Service and Immigration Volunteers/Interns: several community and paralegal volunteers and/or legal student interns are needed to support and advocate for low-income families and immigrant communities to help and educate on immigration matters through its DMV Community Service programs. Volunteers / interns conduct interview, prepare and review application and documentation and are required to sign G-28 and application forms. The time commitment is roughly 20 hours a month for volunteers and 20 hours a week for student interns, and we ask volunteers to make a one-year commitment to the program.
Employment and civil rights Volunteers/Interns: Volunteers/Interns are needed to provide service and advocate for equal opportunities and benefits for minorities, low-income families and immigrant communities in the various entities, e.g. Equal Opportunity Commission and Civil rights and Human Rights commission. They will conduct interview, review, and prepare motions and advocate for equal access in the public benefits, services and protection in employment. The time commitment is roughly 20 hours a month for volunteers and 20 hours a week for student interns, and we ask volunteers to make a one-year commitment to the program.
Legal and Human Rights Interns: several human rights volunteers/interns are needed to investigate and prepare a comprehensive report of Caste, Work and Descent-based discrimination, exclusion and violence against underprivileged section of society in south Asia. Law students with International human rights law and/or civil rights litigation knowledge are a plus.
Congressional Policy Research Interns: Volunteers/ interns are needed to work with leadership on Capitol Hill. The interns will help to build coalition with progressive allies and Congressional offices, civil rights and social justice entities within US, especially Capitol Hill.
Media Interns: ICDR seeks enthusiastic and qualified candidates to design, develop and produce awareness building media materials. These internships are best suited for those interested in public relations, journalism and digital media.
Business Development Volunteers/Interns: interns or volunteers are needed to prepare grant applications for small family and community foundations as well as able to use online fundraising tools to generate funding for various initiatives both in the USA and South Asia.
Financial Management Intern: ICDR is seeking a student to intern part-time to develop and manage the financial system and Account administration. Intern will learn financial management, accounting and business administration in nonprofit environment.
