Sequoia Hospice is looking for compassionate individuals who can provide comfort and support to patients with a life-limiting illness and relief for their family/caregivers. Service is provided within Santa Clara County.
To become a hospice volunteer at Sequoia Hospice, no experience is required, all training and support will be provided. The precious gift of your time, caring nature, and genuine want to be present is priceless.
Volunteering can be as simple as sitting by the bedside, listening with compassion, playing music, reading a book, helping create a scrapbook, offering support, providing relief for the family members and caregivers, and as needed. Volunteers do not provide clinical or personal care. They can provide social visits to a patient, give the caregiver a little break. Volunteers can be a caring companion and compassionate listener to both patients and families. Volunteers can also assist with "light" routine tasks.
This position is perfect for those who have a passion for serving their community or need volunteer hours.
