    Description

The3PointFoundation seeks to close the opportunity and achievement gaps for children living in underserved, lower-income communities. We offer free, year-round, sports-based and project-based learning programs for elementary and middle school students, with a goal to expand into high school programming. These programs help young people build the academic, social-emotional, and life skills that lead to success in school, employment, and beyond. Our mission is centered on fostering lifelong habits of wellness, health, and fitness through the power of sports.

In addition to our afterschool and summer programs, 3Point instructors are embedded in schools during the day to provide hands-on classroom support, lead small-group sessions, and strengthen students’ foundational math skills through the NBA Math Hoops curriculum. Together, these experiences support students’ growth, expand their opportunities, and guide their journey toward post-secondary education—ensuring that Boston’s young people are equipped to thrive in their communities.

As an intern/volunteer with 3Point, your main responsibility will be to act as Classroom Support Staff to help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment rooted in 3Point’s core values of respect, inclusion & belonging, joy, collaboration, and accountability. Team members assist instructors and school staff by supporting students’ social-emotional growth, reinforcing academic concepts, and helping maintain a safe and structured classroom. This is a great opportunity to learn and serve in a partnership with a college/university and a non-profit organization that will promote youth empowerment, academic skills, and critical thinking in after-school, weekend, and summer programs. Training is provided and required for all new volunteers/interns.
