    Description

    Live-In Volunteer Apartment Rental

Help create a future of possibilities for highly independent young adults affected by autism by joining our Live-in Volunteer Program. In exchange for reduced rent of $650-$925 per month, volunteers fulfill a time commitment of 4 hours per week and a 4-hour weekend shift per month. All utilities are included in the rent along with free wifi. Apartment is unfurnished with stove/oven, refrigerator, central heat/air conditioning and pets are allowed with a nonrefundable deposit. We have a laundry room with free use of machines and a work out room as well. We also offer discounted vacation/family stays at Erik’s Ranch or Erik’s Retreat for participants of our Live-In Volunteer program.

Founded in 2008, Erik's Ranch & Retreats is a first-of-its-kind living, working, and social environment for young adults with autism. Not only are both locations home to young adults with autism, but what sets Erik's Ranch & Retreats apart is that these young adults operate the boutique-style/guest accommodations at our two destination locations: Erik’s Retreat in Edina, MN, and Erik's Ranch in Paradise Valley, MT. Erik's Ranch & Retreats provides members (young adults with autism) individual housing, meaningful employment and social opportunities in a single model allowing our members to 1) match their strengths and passions to their employment; 2) have many supported positive social and recreational opportunities enabling independence; 3) engage in surroundings that encourage family and community participation; 4) become productive tax-paying citizens; 5) thrive and are included/accepted members of society and educate the larger community.

    Examples of volunteer services:

    • Participate in social outings with our members- Outdoor activities of all kinds including hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking and more. Attend concerts, festivals, game night, restaurants.
    • Support our members assisting guest accommodations * Support members in daily living skills and other duties as assigned
