    Executive Assistant (Volunteer)

I Will Survive, Inc. – Atlanta, GA (Hybrid / Some Remote)

    About I Will Survive, Inc.

I Will Survive, Inc. is an Atlanta‑based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers individuals at higher risk for or affected by breast cancer through financial assistance, prevention education, and wellness programs. Our work helps survivors and their families maintain housing stability, access screenings and resources, and find community during and after treatment.

    Position Overview

The Volunteer Executive Assistant will provide high‑level administrative and organizational support to the Founder & Executive Director. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, proactive person who wants to build executive support, nonprofit, and leadership skills while directly advancing our mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and organize the Executive Director’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, calls, and speaking engagements.
    • Help track deadlines for grants, reports, events, and board meetings, sending reminders and preparing basic checklists.
    • Draft and edit emails, letters, and simple documents; assist with proofreading and formatting.
    • Support preparation for meetings (agendas, notes, follow‑up task lists).
    • Maintain organized digital files (e.g., Google Drive) for key documents and contacts.
    • Assist with light research on partners, funders, events, and opportunities.
    • Occasionally support event logistics (RSVP tracking, confirmations, materials).

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational and time‑management skills; able to juggle multiple tasks and follow through.
    • Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
    • Comfortable with basic tech tools (email, calendars, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).
    • Discretion and respect for confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
    • Reliable, responsive, and able to work independently once tasks are assigned.
    • Prior executive assistant, admin, or office experience is a plus but not required.

    Time Commitment and Duration

    • Minimum 4–6 hours per week for at least 3 months (flexible schedule).
    • Hybrid: most work can be done remotely, with occasional in‑person meetings or events in the Atlanta area, if available.

    Benefits

    • Direct mentorship and close working relationship with the Founder & Executive Director.
    • Insight into nonprofit leadership, fundraising, partnerships, and program development.
    • Professional experience you can list on your resume and LinkedIn, plus references upon successful completion.
    • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference for families impacted by breast cancer.
