    Description

Craft Visual Stories That Move People: Video Editor / Multimedia Storytelling Volunteer

The Heather Cutler Foundation is looking for a creative and detail-driven Video Editor / Multimedia Storytelling Volunteer to help us turn footage, animation, and emotion into compelling, mission-driven content.

Whether you’re cutting together advocacy reels, animating explainer content, or editing family stories with care and sensitivity, your work will play a powerful role in shaping how we connect with the public, policymakers, and families affected by pancreatic cancer.

If you understand that visuals are a language of their own—and believe storytelling can spark change—this role is for you.

    🟪 Why Join Us?

The Heather Cutler Foundation was founded after Heather’s journey revealed a system that too often fails those living with pancreatic cancer. But behind every statistic is a person—and our goal is to make those stories visible.

We don’t do surface-level awareness. We tell real stories, push for real change, and center people in every piece of content we share. As our video editor, you’ll help bring those stories to life with care, clarity, and creative impact.

    🟪 Responsibilities

    ✅ Edit Short-Form Advocacy Videos

Cut footage into reels, teasers, or TikToks for use on social media and digital platforms. Apply visual consistency, transitions, and light motion graphics.

    ✅ Support Storytelling Projects

Help compile and edit longer-form videos, such as interviews, patient stories, explainer videos (e.g., on molecular profiling), and event recaps.

    ✅ Collaborate on Campaign Content

Work with our communications and creative teams to produce visuals for launches, advocacy pushes, and commemorative campaigns.

    ✅ Enhance with Visual Elements

Add titles, captions, light effects, or voiceover where applicable—keeping accessibility and storytelling flow in mind.

    ✅ Organize Project Files

Maintain an organized library of video assets, footage, and final exports for team use across platforms.

    🟪 Qualifications

    • Video Editing Skills: Proficiency with software like CapCut, iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Canva Video, RunwayML, or similar.
    • Story-First Mindset: Understands how editing choices shape emotional tone, clarity, and pacing.
    • Visual Consistency: Able to work within a visual brand while contributing your own creative eye.
    • Accessibility-Oriented: Comfortable adding captions, alt text, or structuring video content with inclusivity in mind.
    • Collaborative: Able to take feedback and work closely with team leads on revisions.
    • Mission-Aligned: You believe visual storytelling has the power to change hearts—and policies.

    🟪 Role Details

    • Location: Remote (Canada-based preferred)
    • Time Commitment: ~3–6 hours/week, flexible
    • Employment Type: Volunteer
    • Start Date: As soon as possible
    • Duration: Minimum 3-month commitment preferred
    • Supervised by: Creative Director & Founder
