Advisory Board Member

The New Roots Fund is looking for Advisory Board Members to provide strategic guidance, leveraging your expertise to offer "wise counsel," insights, and recommendations on business, market, and industry trends, though you will not hold decision-making authority or fiduciary duties. Key responsibilities include challenging assumptions, identifying opportunities and risks, expanding the organization's network, and serving as a strategic sounding board to help leadership make informed decisions and drive sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Offer Unbiased Perspectives:
• Provide a valuable third-point-of-view on business challenges and opportunities, free from operational involvement.
• Act as a Resource:
• Serve as a sounding board for leadership, bringing fresh perspectives and insights to discussions.
• Identify Risks and Opportunities:
• Help the organization navigate risks and identify opportunities for growth and long-term sustainability.
• Promote the Organization:
• Leverage their network to build community relationships and support fundraising efforts.
• Encourage Innovation:
• Support and encourage the exploration of new business ideas and strategies.
• Monitor Performance:
• Provide input and analysis on business performance to help guide improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in the financial sector
• Involved in the communities we work with (immigrants and refugees)
