The Community Centre for Integrated Development (CCID) is dedicated to advancing the rights of communities, women, girls, and young people in Cameroon. We focus on strengthening community leaders and organizations to respond to the needs of indigenous people, envisioning an Africa where youth have access to information and resources to lead social change.
We are seeking a Volunteer Chatbot Developer to lead the technical implementation of our DECIDE platform. The goal is to create a dynamic, text-based community engagement tool that empowers young people to speak out on issues that matter to them.
Platform Functionality:
- Interactive Messaging: Develop a system that functions via SMS and popular messaging apps (like WhatsApp or Telegram) to reach youth in areas with limited internet.
- Real-time Polling: Create a flow that allows users to answer questions and share their opinions on community issues, reproductive health, and social rights.
- Information Hub: Build automated response pathways that provide subscribers with instant access to critical information regarding leadership opportunities and health resources.
- Data Aggregation: Ensure the platform can collect and visualize responses to help CCID advocate for system change.
Technical Requirements:
- Proven experience in developing automated messaging flows or chatbots.
- Knowledge of Free NGO Tools: Must be familiar with open-source or free-tier platforms used by non-profits (such as RapidPro, Twilio, or similar frameworks).
- Cost-Efficiency: We are keen to work with a developer who can identify and implement alternate, cost-efficient ways to build and maintain the platform without high monthly overhead.
