Role Summary: The Baby Supplies Bank Volunteer helps support families in need by organizing, sorting, and distributing donated baby supplies. Volunteers ensure donations are clean, organized, and ready for distribution in a respectful and dignified manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort donated baby supplies (diapers, hygiene products, etc.)
- Inspect items for cleanliness and quality; remove damaged items
- Organize shelves, bins, and racks to maintain a tidy and efficient workspace
- Assist in assembling baby supplies care packages for families
- Greet and assist clients in selecting items in a respectful, nonjudgmental manner
- Restock and take inventory of baby items
- Help with donation intake, labeling, and storage
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Caring, compassionate attitude toward families and young children
- Attention to detail and ability to follow sorting/organizing procedures
- Ability to lift bins or bags up to 20 pounds
- Respect for client privacy and dignity
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Requirements:
- Completion of all onboarding paperwork and training
- Background check required
- Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
- Commitment to volunteering once a week for 4 hours for 6 months
- Record hours volunteered and submit to LCSNW staff at the end of each month
- Disclosure of any dual relationships. Volunteer interacts with clients outside of LCSNW setting
