Join us for an unforgettable journey as you experience the outdoors alongside our students as they explore trails, hike, backpack, canoe/kayak, and camp - all right here in the Houston area.
Weekend Trip Volunteer Orientation coming September 28th!
Whether you're an experienced outdoors person or brand new to the trail, we’ll provide all the gear and training you need. All you need is a spirit of adventure and a heart for mentorship.
Come be part of something powerful - where fresh air meets fresh perspectives, and every weekend becomes a chance to change lives (including your own).
The first step to becoming a trip leader is attending our orientation on Wednesday, September 28, 2025, from 6 pm to 8:30pm. Space is limited. Please RSVP here or register at this link: Trip Volunteer Orientation. This 2.5-hour informational session will guide you through the process of becoming a volunteer trip leader. The emphasis will be on our weekend trips to local state parks and all the criteria for becoming a weekend trip leader. Our end goal is to have these trip leaders accompany us on our summer trips where we take almost 200 students from underserved areas in Houston, to national parks in California, Washington, and Colorado.
If this is your first-time attending one of our events, please go to the volunteer page on our website and complete the TWP Event Volunteer Application.
Our offices are housed in a separate building behind the American Red Cross. Please enter through the gate on the right side of the building.
