    We seek mostly consistent volunteers who can commit to volunteering one day a week. The busiest days are Monday -Thursday. We are closed on the weekends.

    Description

    Mercadito (Food Pantry)

    Volunteers in the food pantry have several roles to choose from. Although many of the roles/tasks are interchangeable due to our immediate needs.

    • Grocery Stocker: stocks food pantry with food from incoming deliveries, helps sort items into shelves and fridges correctly and appropriately
    • Warehouse Assistant: helps with unloading and unpacking the delivery of pallets of food/fresh produce/frozen meats, etc. Takes care of organizing and sorting the pallets in the warehouse and all other warehouse needs.
    • Shopping attendant: guides our program participants as they shop through the food pantry; helps bag their food items, and then takes it out to them and places their food in their vehicle.

    All roles are physically demanding and may require lifting, bending, squaring, and standing up for a long time. Please be aware that you may have to lift or carry items 20 - 40 lbs and up.

    2 shifts available:

    • Can accommodate a shift of no less than two hours within this time frame.: Thursday May 01, 2025 - 09:00 to 13:00 CST
    • Can accommodate a shift of no less than two hours within this time frame.: Thursday May 01, 2025 - 13:00 to 16:00 CST
