    Description

    Position Title: Grant Writer Volunteer

    Location: Remote (with opportunity to attend occasional in-person team meetings or events)

    Time Commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours/week with a flexible schedule. A minimum of 6 months is requested.

    Role Overview

    As a Grant Writer volunteer, you'll be instrumental in securing funding to advance our mission. This role involves researching potential funding sources, developing strong proposals, and collaborating with the team to support initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research & Prospecting: Identify grant opportunities aligned with faith-based discipleship and global ministry.
    • Proposal Development: Write compelling LOIs and full proposals, articulate organizational mission, program objectives, budget, and expected impact.
    • Collaboration: Work with program directors to gather data, narratives, and metrics required for grant applications.
    • Grant Calendar Management: Track submission deadlines, follow-up dates, and reporting schedules.
    • Reporting & Stewardship: Assist with grant reporting requirements, including budget reconciliation and impact storytelling.
    • Process Improvement: Help systematize templates, style guidelines, and tracking tools for long-term grant-readiness.

    • Ability to interpret program data and translate it into persuasive funding narratives.
    • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight.
    • Collaborative team player who thrives in remote environments and aligns with core values.

    Ideal Qualifications

    • At least three years of nonprofit grant writing or grant support experience is preferred.
    • Basic budgeting experience and ability to analyze financial needs for proposals.
    • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management platforms.

    Training & Support

    • Orientation to Oaks of Hope International’s mission and current programs.
    • Access to all program documentation, contacts, and tools needed for effective proposals.
    • Regular check-ins with the Oaks of Hope International team members.
