    Who We Are

The Oppia Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to provide high quality education to all. We do this through the creation and maintenance of our free-to-use platform, Oppia (https://www.oppia.org), the coordination of our passionate contributors, and the development of critical partnerships with NGOs in the communities we aim to serve.

    Where You Fit In

Millions of children are not receiving the education they deserve. Of the 61 million children worldwide who cannot attend primary school, 17 million will never step foot into a school if trends continue. In the wake of COVID-19, millions more children are also seeing interruptions in their daily lives, stability, and education – making it even more difficult than before for many students to get the education they need to succeed.

Many people don't realize that a large proportion of the world has limited access to education, and that this denies them opportunities in life, through no fault of their own. We seek to amplify this cause and bring awareness to the voices and stories of these learners, and build a community that advocates for and makes active efforts to support equitable access to education for everyone. We also want more learners and parents in these situations to know about the tools that Oppia provides (such as the offline-playable Oppia Android app with a full interactive basic math curriculum), so that they can make use of them to support their education.

Oppia’s digital platforms - social media, blog, and newsletters - are where our mission meets the world. As a Marketing Platform Manager, you’ll help ensure that content is published correctly, conversations are nurtured, and supporters feel heard and valued. You’ll help ensure that Oppia shows up consistently, professionally, and warmly across the platforms that matter most to our audiences.

As a Platform Manager, you’ll own at least one of the following primary platforms or focus areas, based on your interests and experience:

    Newsletter & Email Platform Management

    • Set up and schedule emails in Mailchimp
    • Ensure formatting, links, images, and personalization are correct
    • Maintain subscriber list hygiene and segmentation
    • Support basic automation flows (welcome, re-engagement, donor journeys)
    • Track basic engagement metrics

    Social Media Platform Management

    • Schedule and publish approved content
    • Respond to comments and direct messages professionally
    • Engage in relevant education, open-source, and impact conversations
    • Encourage and reshare user-generated content
    • Monitor similar organizations for inspiration and differentiation

    Blog & Website Publishing

    • Publish approved blog content on the Oppia website
    • Ensure correct formatting, links, visuals, and accessibility
    • Coordinate with the team on website updates tied to campaigns
    • Flag issues or inconsistencies early

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day execution and platform health within your chosen area.

    What we’re looking for

    • Experience or interest in managing digital platforms
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Clear written communication skills
    • Comfort following processes and checklists
    • Reliability and responsiveness
    • Willingness to engage respectfully with public audiences

Why Oppia is an Organization You Want to Work With

What Our Marketing Platform Managers Contribute

    • Well-managed, reliable digital platforms
    • Timely publishing of approved content
    • Thoughtful community engagement
    • Clean, organized newsletters and content systems
    • Platform-specific insights that inform future campaigns
