    Location: Remote / Liberia-based (optional, depending on volunteer’s location)

    Commitment: 8–20 hours per week (flexible)

    About WAVDI

    The West Africa Volunteers Development Initiative (WAVDI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing volunteers and empowering communities across West Africa through sustainable development initiatives. WAVDI supports grassroots projects in education, health, environmental sustainability, youth development, and economic empowerment, while building bridges through local and international volunteerism.

    Position Summary

    WAVDI is seeking a highly motivated and responsible Volunteer Program Associate to support the planning, implementation, and coordination of its community programs and volunteer engagements. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social impact, program development, and cross-cultural collaboration.

    The Program Associate will play a critical role in supervising and coordinating international volunteers and interns, both virtually and onsite, and supporting the overall growth and visibility of WAVDI's initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the planning and management of key WAVDI programs such as the She Leads Academy, Clothes for Change, youth development, and education outreach initiatives
    • Coordinate and supervise international volunteers and interns, ensuring smooth onboarding, engagement, and task alignment (remote and on-site)
    • Organize and facilitate team meetings, volunteer check-ins, and internal planning sessions
    • Attend partnership meetings with local and international organizations, representing WAVDI in a professional manner
    • Deliver presentations to potential donors and partners, supporting fundraising and collaboration efforts
    • Support the development of funding proposals, donor reports, and concept notes
    • Track program deliverables, milestones, and document impact stories for reporting and marketing
    • Collaborate with communications team to ensure accurate and inspiring representation of program activities online and offline
    • Help identify new partnership opportunities and support stakeholder relationship management

    Qualifications

    • Passion for community service, development, and volunteer-driven impact
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate diverse teams (including remote volunteers)
    • Strong writing, presentation, and research skills
    • Comfortable with digital tools such as Zoom, Google Workspace, Slack, Trello, etc.
    • Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
    • Academic or practical background in nonprofit management, international development, education, or a related field is a plus
