Caribbean Minds Exposed Through Travel (CMETT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth in the English-speaking Caribbean through life-skills training, mentorship, and transformative travel experiences. We believe in equipping young people with the tools, mindset, and exposure needed to break cycles and build brighter futures.
We believe mentorship facilitates transformation and is critical to the long-term development of young people. As a CMETT Mentor, you’ll play a key role in guiding students toward personal and professional growth. Your investment of time and experience will be invaluable, fueling students with encouragement, skills, ethics, morals, values, and life-expanding perspectives.
Responsibilities
Conduct virtual mentorship sessions with assigned students (approximately 30 minutes, twice per month)
Support mentees in developing confidence, self-awareness, and goal-setting skills
Share personal and professional insights that encourage resilience and accountability
Communicate with the CMETT team to track mentee progress and identify support needs
Model CMETT’s values of integrity, empathy, and empowerment in every interaction
Qualifications
Passion for youth development, empowerment and education
Strong communication and active listening skills
Ability to create a safe, encouraging, and respectful space for students
Previous mentoring, teaching, coaching, or leadership experience is an asset but not required
Must be able to commit to virtual sessions twice per month in the EST time zone
Must provide two references as part of the application process

This is a volunteer, remote position
Time commitment: approximately 1–2 hours per month
