    Description

    The South Shore Community Action Council is in need of volunteers to assist individuals in the community by providing state and federal income tax preparation, including electronic and hard-copy filing of income tax returns for low-income South Shore residents. Volunteer tax preparers help low-income households maximize their tax refunds and minimize tax burden by claiming all credits for which they are eligible. Support for volunteers if provided by Site Coordinators and other experienced volunteers.

    Responsibilities/tasks:

    • Complete tax returns
    • Utilize IRS TaxWise Software, electronically prepare and file state & federal income tax returns
    • Must complete IRS certification (online training)
