After-school programming at Shechem at Hope Street gives kids a safe place to go after school and have fun. With this typically being the busiest time at Shechem, we need extra hands to keep life going smoothly! We are looking for people who can go with the flow and are interested in building community. This may look like playing uno with kids one day, helping with homework another, and helping with an admin task on a slower day. Many of the youth who come are middle and high schoolers.
Here are times we are looking for after-school volunteers:
Each day afterschool looks different. We look for people who are relational and are willing to see how kids want to interact that day. Playing uno with kids, helping with homework when it comes up, checking in kids, playing roblox, overseeing a space to ensure kids are following guidelines, etc.
It is super helpful if volunteers help clean up at the end of the day.
