    Description

Fruitslice—a volunteer-run, Queer literary publication and creative community—is looking for an additional Project Manager to support the operations of our growing team. As our organization expands, it’s become clear that we need more hands and heart behind the scenes to help bring our work to life.

This is a remote, volunteer-based role with flexible hours. We're looking for someone who is organized, reliable, collaborative, and excited to help Queer art and community flourish.

    What You’ll Do

You’ll work alongside our Lead Project Manager and the rest of our collaborative team to help manage key initiatives from start to finish. Your role may include:

    • Overseeing specific projects or campaigns (e.g. grant research initiatives, marketing pushes, website redesign, archive organizing, onboarding)
    • Following up on check-in forms to track volunteer and team progress
    • Helping to schedule meetings, set up timelines, and follow-up on deadlines
    • Creating next steps, priority lists, and accountability check-ins
    • Identifying roadblocks and offering support/resources to move through them
    • Coordinating communication between different departments (design, social, editorial, etc.)
    • Supporting internal organization (Google Drive cleanup, Airtable, etc.)

You'll likely float between areas where support is needed most—one month that might mean helping keep our fundraising campaign on track, the next it could be checking in with the team rebuilding our website.

You Might Be a Good Fit If:

    • You’re organized, proactive, and love helping creative people stay on track
    • You have experience with (or interest in) project management, operations, or nonprofit coordination
    • You’re comfortable communicating across departments and keeping things moving
    • You can support someone else’s vision, but aren’t afraid to take initiative
    • You're passionate about Queer storytelling, grassroots publishing, or arts nonprofit work
    • Can collaborate on an asynchronous remote team using Slack, Zoom, and Google Drive
    • Are self-motivated and comfortable managing your own workload
    • Can commit at least 6 months and a few hours per week, with the ability to jump in more during our busiest seasons
    • Want to be part of a collective of Queer creatives working together with care and intention

    Bonus if you:

    • Have experience with Airtable, Google Workspace, or other project tools
    • Have a background in nonprofit development, finance, or operations
    • Enjoy internal community-building and supporting volunteers
    • Want to help a small team grow and evolve with intention

This is a volunteer role. Priority is given to QTPOC individuals and people from other intersectional and historically marginalized communities. We recognize that unpaid creative work can be exploitative—we do our best to ensure our time together is collaborative, flexible, and nourishing. You’ll be part of a deeply passionate team, and your voice will be valued.

We can’t wait to meet you.
