    Description

    Veterans Needing Veterans.

Gentiva Hospice is looking for US Military Veterans (or actively serving military) Volunteers to help provided support to Veterans with life limiting conditions and their caregivers. Veteran - to - Veteran Support Volunteers provide a bond to other Veterans like no one else can! American Veterans have done everything asked of them in their mission, it is our mission to serve those that have served us. We believe that it is never to late to give them a hero's welcome home! How you serve and how often is completely up to you! Here are a few examples of how our Veteran to Veteran Support Volunteers serve.

    • Provide companionship and emotional support to fellow veterans and their caregivers
    • Provide respite (sitting with the Veteran/patient while the caregiver runs errand etc.)
    • Run errands for the Veteran and their caregiver
    • Participation in our Veteran recognition and pinning ceremonies

No medical experience is needed as Volunteers DO NOT perform nursing duties or dispense medications
