Reader and Walking Buddys Needed for Waterbury Neighbors

A local neighbor in Waterbury who is legally blind needs a buddy to help read and sort mail, go for a walk or take a quick trip out for coffee. It is so easy to be a good friend, all you need is an open heart and few hours every other week. Your new friend will live close by and we can provide the common sense techniques training and you will ready to meet your new friend.

• Requirements to be a great volunteer include:

desire to help others;

pleasant demeanor;

good reading/speaking voice;

average reading skills;

organizational or planning abilities;

good driving record;

clear criminal history;

two references

access to a car with proof of insurance;

a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage.

You must be in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York or Massachusetts, there is no relocation, passport, Visa or stipend available.
