    To empower marginalized communities for improved well-being through promotion of sustainable initiatives and networking with other partners.

    OUR OBJECTIVES

      • Promote economic strengthening through entrepreneurship, microcredit access, and skills development.
      • Support WASH initiatives and sustainable water management in rural communities.
      • Promote human rights, gender equality, and local governance participation.
      • Enhance environmental conservation and awareness programs.
      • Influence policies for poverty reduction, gender sensitivity, and community development.

    WHERE WE WORK

    E-MAC has field offices in Manyara, Morogoro, Rungwe, Zanzibar, and operates grassroots projects throughout Tanzania Mainland.

    VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

    E-MAC Tanzania welcomes both skilled and non-skilled volunteers who are passionate about making a lasting impact in marginalized communities. Volunteer opportunities are available year-round across our program areas in different regions.

    Volunteer Roles Include:

      • Community Health Support: Assist healthcare staff in community clinics or outreach programs focused on HIV, SRH, FGM prevention, and general health education.
      • Youth & Women Empowerment Projects: Support microfinance initiatives, skills training workshops, and entrepreneurship programs aimed at economic strengthening.
      • Environmental Conservation Activities: Participate in tree planting, clean-up campaigns, and community awareness raising on sustainable farming and energy use.
      • WASH Implementation: Help with water, sanitation, and hygiene projects in schools and villages.
      • Teaching & Education: Support teachers in rural schools, deliver lessons, or offer coaching in literacy and life skills.
      • Administrative Support: Bring expertise in project management, bookkeeping, data collection, monitoring and evaluation, or grant writing.
      • Community Development: Engage with local groups in organizing forums, advocacy, and participatory governance initiatives.

    WHAT IS INCLUDED FOR VOLUNTEERS

      • Orientation and training upon arrival
      • Accommodation near project sites or field offices
      • Local transportation for project activities
      • Meals during project days
      • Support and supervision by experienced E-MAC staff

    Volunteers are responsible for their flight, visa, insurance, and personal expenses.

    COMMITMENT & QUALIFICATIONS

      • Minimum commitment: 4 weeks (minimum 2 weeks considered case-by-case)
      • Age: 18 years and above
      • Basic English proficiency to communicate with teams and community members
      • Open-mindedness, positivity, energy, and willingness to work in multi-cultural environments
      • Volunteers are expected to adhere to E-MAC’s code of conduct, safeguarding principles, and work ethics.

    Our office is conveniently located on Kilimamoto Street, just a 20-minute drive from Arusha town. To find us, simply head out of Arusha on the main Namanga Road towards the Kenyan border. After about 20 minutes, you will see a signpost for Kilimamoto Street, and you'll find our office just a few steps ahead on the left side of the road.
