    Description

William Penn Elementary School has been a historic mainstay of the North Lawndale community for over one hundred years. Our building is beautiful and majestic. We are seeking to complement the beauty of the building's architecture with improved landscaping and landscaping maintenance. Specifically, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to plant flower bulbs and other perennials, ornamental grasses, and shrubs to help make our school grounds a visually stunning wonderland of natural beauty for our children and families. If possible, we would welcome volunteers working with our students during planting so as to help educate our students in the plant life cycle and to help increase students' ownership and investment in their school. But this is not necessary. We welcome volunteers with green thumbs who don't have or have run out of space to putter in their gardens. Please come and bring your skills to our school!
