(Volunteer) Illustrator

Borrow’d – Together, we have everything

Borrow’d is building a neighborhood-based sharing platform designed to make it easier for people to access what they need without buying more stuff. Our mission is to strengthen communities, reduce waste, and normalize collective use over individual ownership.

We are in an early but structured build phase. Our brand direction is established. Our design system exists. We are now looking for an illustrator who can help us execute consistently and thoughtfully within that system.

The Role

We are looking for an illustrator who is comfortable working within defined brand guidelines and visual constraints. This is not a “create the visual identity” role - this is a “help us apply and extend it with precision and care” role. You will create illustrations that directly support the effectiveness of the product (UX, onboarding flows, landing pages, educational materials, etc.)

What You’ll Do

• Create original illustrations that follow Borrow’d’s established style and tone
• Translate product features into simple, clear, and friendly visuals
• Work closely with product and UX to support feature launches
• Ensure visual consistency across touchpoints
• Iterate quickly based on feedback

What We’re Looking For

• Strong illustration portfolio
• Demonstrated ability to follow brand guidelines and match an existing style
• Comfort working within constraints
• Ability to simplify complex ideas into clean, accessible visuals
• Reliable communication and responsiveness
• Someone who is passionate about sustainability, community, and the circular economy
