    Description

    Shelf Reading Volunteer

    Perform a variety of tasks involved in the arrangement, order, upkeep and maintenance of shelved library materials.

    • 1 regularly scheduled day Monday - Friday
    • A minimum of once weekly - 2 hours a week
    • Between 9 am - 4 pm
    • Up to twice weekly is welcomed for those who are interested.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Reading shelved items for accuracy.
    • General straightening and maintaining of shelved material and public areas.
    • Special projects as assigned.

    MUST BE:

    • at least 18 years of age.
    • able to make a minimum 6 month commitment.
    • able to stand, bend, lift, reach to 75 inches, stoop and crouch.
    • detail oriented and able to file accurately in alphabetical, numerical, and Dewey Decimal order.
    • able to understand and follow written and oral directions.
