Our organization is looking for Board Members to help us grow our programs in the Las Vegas Valley.
All board members in every position will be responsible for provide governance, oversight, and strategic direction for the organization.
- Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in all board meetings.
- Serve on committees and task forces as needed.
- Review and approve the organization's budget and financial reports.
- Ensure the organization adheres to its mission, values, and bylaws.
- Provide guidance and support to the Executive Director.
- Participate in fundraising and advocacy efforts.
On the board we have positions open in the Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Community Engagement roles. Please see the descriptions below for these roles:
Vice President
- Role: Assists the President and stands in when the President is unavailable.
- Supports the Chair in their duties.
- Oversees specific projects or initiatives.
- Chairs committees as needed.
- Ensures continuity of leadership and assists with succession planning.
Secretary
- Role: Maintains accurate records of the board's actions and ensures effective management of the organization's records.
- Prepares and distributes meeting minutes.
- Maintains custody of the organization's records.
- Ensures compliance with statutory requirements related to record-keeping.
- Manages board communications and correspondence.
Treasurer
- Role: Oversees the financial management and fiscal health of the organization.
- Monitors the organization's financial policies and procedures.
- Reviews and presents financial statements to the board.
- Ensures the preparation and approval of the annual budget.
- Works with auditors and financial professionals to ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensures compliance with financial regulations and requirements.
Community Engagement
- Role: Serve as a visible and approachable representative of the organization at local events, forums, and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including local leaders, schools, civic groups, and businesses.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for strategic partnerships that align with the organization's mission.
