Are you outgoing, high-energy, and excited to help support a great cause? Join us as a Button Seller at our biggest fundraising event of the year, The Great Figgy Pudding!

    What Is a Button Seller?

Button Sellers are the most visible and lively volunteers at Figgy, and one of the ways we raise donations from the crowd. This role is perfect for people who love engaging with others, grabbing attention, and bringing enthusiasm to the event atmosphere.

Button Sellers work in pairs, sign up with a friend, or meet someone new, and make the role even more fun!

Your Responsibilities as a Button Seller

    Fundraising & Engagement

    • Work within an assigned zone in the Figgy Pudding event area.
    • Call out to attendees, make noise, and get attention in fun and creative ways to encourage donations.
    • Sell Figgy Pudding 2025 fundraising buttons for a minimum $5 donation (additional donations encouraged and appreciated!).

    Donation Support

    • Assist attendees with making donations using:
      • A donation box,
      • A QR code linking to the online donation page,
    • Help make the donation process quick, clear, and enjoyable for everyone.

    Ambassador of Festivity

    • Bring positive energy and help build a joyful, festive environment.
    • Encourage generosity that directly supports the Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank.

    Training & Support

    • Volunteers will receive helpful tips, tricks, and guidance during our training session to feel prepared and confident.
    • Most importantly, have lots of fun while making a big impact!

    Instructions:

    Before the event

    • All volunteers must attend an in-person training on Thursday, December 4th, at 6 pm at Pike Place Market.
      • The training will be approx. 1.5 hours long and cover important safety and logistics information, FAQs, a site walkthrough, and guidelines for the event.
      • If you are unable to attend the training, please contact Tahtiana (tahtiana@pmsc-dtfb.org) or Sam (sam@pmsc-dtfb.org) for information about a make-up session.
    • All volunteers must complete registration paperwork through Galaxy Digital, our volunteer management platform, prior to the event.
    • If you're volunteering with a group, please inform us so we can pair you together. We also encourage friends or families to sign up together to share the volunteer experience. If you're volunteering solo, don't worry, you'll have the opportunity to make a new friend during the event!

    Day of the event

    • The 40th Annual Figgy Pudding will be held on Saturday, December 6th, 2025. We will need volunteer help from 8:30am to 3pm, though you may not need to stay that whole time.
    • Figgy Pudding is a rain-or-shine event! Please be sure to dress warmly. We will be providing all volunteers with a Figgy Pudding apron, but extra festive attire is strongly encouraged! Have fun with it!
    • We will provide coffee and a light lunch before the event starts, but please bring water and any extra snacks as needed.
    • Please note that parking will be very limited, and there is no free parking in the Market area. Public transportation is recommended.
      • If you encounter difficulties figuring out the best route, please feel free to let us know, and we'll assist you!
    • Please arrive ready to check in at your shift start time. We will show you the Volunteer Check-In area during the training on Thursday, December 4th.
    • Please know you are expected to stay until the end of your shift. At the end of your shift you will visit the Volunteer Check-In to return any supplies and do a quick check-in with our event team.
