Hospice volunteers are a vital part of the care team, offering comfort, companionship, and support to patients and families during end-of-life care. Volunteers may spend time with patients by sharing conversation, reading aloud, playing music, or simply providing a quiet presence so no one feels alone. They also offer valuable relief to caregivers by giving them time to rest or attend to personal needs.
In addition, some volunteers contribute special skills—such as pet therapy, hairstyling, or creative activities—that bring joy and dignity to patients. Others assist behind the scenes with office support, phone calls, or event coordination.
No medical care is required, and full training is provided. What matters most is the willingness to listen, to be present, and to bring kindness and compassion to those who need it most. By becoming a hospice volunteer, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families at a deeply important time.
We are seeking compassionate volunteers to visit hospice patients throughout the Phoenix Valley offering companionship, comfort, and support during this meaningful stage of life.
To apply, please email us at candace@dignityhh.com, and a Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule an orientation.
