    Organization Description

    Comprehensive Infant Development Organization (CIDO) is a registered nonprofit organization in Rwanda working to promote inclusive, holistic development in Physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual dimension for children under 18 years old.

    Our program Focus are Health & Nutrition, Education & Early childhood education, Disability Inclusion, Water & Sanitation, Climate child resilience, Youth, and Families empowerment in underserved rural communities.

    Opportunity Description

    CIDO is seeking an experienced Pro Bono Fundraising Consultant to support resource mobilization for our priority community-based development projects. This is a skills-based volunteer consultancy aimed at strengthening our fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and grant readiness.

    👉 CIDO will allocate dedicated staff members to work hand in hand with the pro bono consultant and will provide all necessary information, data, and organizational documents required to effectively support the fundraising work.

    Priority Projects for Fundraising Support

    The consultant will support fundraising efforts for the following priority projects:

    1. Powering Rural Youth Project

    Empowering rural youth through savings groups, smart agriculture, and technical & vocational training to improve livelihoods and reduce unemployment.

    2. Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR)

    Supporting children and individuals with disabilities through inclusive rehabilitation, social inclusion, and family support services.

    3. Community-Based Early Childhood Education (ECE)

    Improving access to quality early childhood education and early stimulation for young children in rural communities.

    4.Climate Change & Environmental Protection Projects

    promoting climate resilience, environmental conservation, and sustainable community practices.

    Who Should Apply (Preferred Volunteers)

    We strongly encourage applications from:

    • Fundraising and grant professionals based in the United States, Canada, and Europe
    • Members of University Consulting Clubs and Student Consulting Organizations
    • University students, graduate students, or faculty with experience in fundraising, grants, or development studies
    • Professionals interested in international development and global impact
    • Teams of volunteers (e.g. consulting clubs) are welcome

    Key Responsibilities

      • Review and strengthen CIDO’s fundraising and resource mobilization strategy
      • Identify potential donors, foundations, and grant opportunities
      • Provide guidance on grant proposal development and donor communications
      • Support donor mapping and fundraising pipeline development
      • Build fundraising capacity of CIDO’s leadership and assigned staff

    Desired Skills & Experience

      • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations
      • Background working with nonprofits, NGOs, or social impact organizations
      • Knowledge of international development funding is an advantage
      • Strong communication and strategic planning skills
      • Commitment to ethical, community-centered development work

    Time Commitment

      • Flexible schedule
      • Approx. 3–5 hours per week
      • Duration: 1–3 months (extendable by mutual agreement)
