About Bold Steps

Bold Steps is a faith-based nonprofit rooted in compassion, grace, and resilience. We support pregnant and parenting teens in foster care, ages 14 to 25. Through mentorship, resources, education, and future housing opportunities, we help young mothers build confidence and step boldly into their roles as parents and leaders.

The Opportunity

We are seeking compassionate and committed volunteer mentors to walk alongside teen parents in foster care. As a mentor, you will provide encouragement, guidance, and support to young moms as they navigate parenting, education, and personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Build a consistent, positive relationship with your mentee through regular check-ins (in person, by phone, or virtually).
• Encourage your mentee as they balance school, parenting, and future goals.
• Connect them with resources and opportunities when appropriate (training provided).
• Partner with Bold Steps staff to ensure mentees feel supported.

Qualifications

• A caring, reliable adult willing to invest in a teen parent’s growth and success.
• Good listener with patience and empathy.
• Willing to commit to regular mentorship over at least six months.
• No prior mentorship experience required — training and ongoing support provided.

Time Commitment

• Flexible, about 4–6 hours per month.
• Minimum 6-month commitment.
