    COHAP Outreach Corporation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veterans, formerly incarcerated individuals, domestic violence survivors, and aged-out foster care young adults through housing, employment, and community support programs. We believe in creating second chances and building brighter futures through compassion and service.

    Role Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in nonprofit tax preparation and tax filing. The ideal candidate will provide professional support to ensure compliance with IRS nonprofit regulations and assist with accurate financial documentation and annual reporting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and file annual nonprofit tax returns (Form 990 or applicable forms).
    • Review financial records to ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
    • Provide guidance on tax-related matters and potential deductions.
    • Assist with bookkeeping and recordkeeping best practices.
    • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen the organization’s financial transparency.

    Requirements:

    Must reside in the United States.

    Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years specializing in nonprofit tax filing.

    Strong understanding of IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.

    Attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.

    Ability to volunteer remotely and meet project deadlines.
