    Description

VITAS is looking for compassionate people to provide a listening ear, a comforting presence, and the gift of human connection. Your time can help alleviate the profound isolation and loneliness that can accompany a life-limiting illness. You bring the patient and their family a warm smile and a friendly face when it’s needed most.

    Volunteers provide:

    • Companionship: Being a warm, consistent presence for someone who may be feeling isolated.
    • Support: Providing a brief respite for a family caregiver by sitting with a patient.
    • Connection: Engaging in activities like reading, conversation, or games to bring joy and normalcy to a challenging time.
