Position Overview:
WOCOTM is seeking an experienced and visionary Volunteer Vice President of Development to lead the organization’s fundraising, donor relations, and development strategy. This executive-level volunteer role is critical to strengthening financial sustainability, expanding partnerships, and advancing WOCOTM’s mission to empower women, girls, and underserved communities locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan, including grants, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and individual giving.
- Donor Relations: Build and steward relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
- Grant Development: Oversee research, writing, and submission of grants in collaboration with program staff and volunteers.
- Board & Leadership Collaboration: Work closely with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, and other leaders to align development goals with organizational priorities.
- Campaigns & Events: Lead planning of fundraising campaigns, galas, summits, and special events.
- AI & Technology Integration (Preferred): Use AI tools (e.g., for grant research, donor outreach drafts, campaign analytics) to increase efficiency and impact.
- Mentorship: Guide and support development staff, interns, and volunteers to build fundraising capacity within the organization.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Support the collection of data and preparation of reports on program outcomes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with staff, volunteers, and program leads to ensure program success.
- Able to use Microsoft 365 office including (Word, excel, teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Loop and Chip champ).
- Familiarity with Google docs.
- Will need Internet access and a computer
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit leadership.
- Strong grant writing, donor cultivation, and partnership-building skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and networking abilities.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute long-term fundraising initiatives.
- Familiarity with AI and digital fundraising tools is a plus.
- Passion for advancing gender equity, women’s leadership, and social justice.
Commitment:
- Volunteer position requiring 8–10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
- Minimum commitment of 2 year preferred.
