    Description

Become a Mentor - Help Young Mothers in Mahoning County Thrive!

    About The EMBER Project:

At The EMBER Project, we walk alongside young mothers as they pursue education, career goals, and personal growth. Through mentorship, resources, and community engagement, we aim to break cycles of poverty and empower families to thrive.

    Volunteer Role: One-on-One Mentor

We are seeking compassionate and committed individuals to serve as mentors for young mothers. As a mentor, you will:

    • Provide encouragement and emotional support
    • Share knowledge and life skills that build confidence and resilience
    • Help mentees set and achieve personal, educational, or career goals
    • Connect them with resources and opportunities in the community

Mentors may meet with mentees in person or virtually, depending on location and availability. Training and ongoing support are provided for both mentors and program participants!

    Who Should Apply:

    • Individuals with lived experience as a young mother or parent
    • Students and professionals in fields like social work, psychology, education, or public health
    • Retired adults eager to share wisdom and life experience
    • Anyone committed to trauma-informed care and walking beside others in their journey

    Potential is like an ember.

An ember can be protected, nurtured, and fanned into a bright flame-able to change the space it exists in.

At The EMBER Project, we believe every person holds this spark of potential. With care and encouragement, that spark can grow into light that strengthens families and transforms communities.

Help us create light in our community-volunteer today!
