    Description

Volunteer Drivers Needed for “Shoeboxes of Joy (SOJ)'' Deliveries

Every year, Volunteer Services (VS), a Program of Catholic Community Services, staff and volunteers deliver holiday care packages called Shoeboxes of Joy SOJ to low-income older adults and adults with disabilities in our community. These thoughtful packages bring warmth and happiness to those who may be isolated from family and friends during the Holiday Season.

We are looking for volunteer drivers across King County to help deliver these Shoeboxes of Joy to clients in your neighborhood. Your role will be simple but meaningful: pick up the packages, deliver them safely, and help brighten someone’s holiday with a friendly greeting and smile.

    • You will receive the Shoebox of Joy Delivery Form to complete when dropping off the packages.
    • Deliveries can be scheduled based on your availability within the delivery period.

Many of our VS clients experience loneliness, especially during the holidays.

Volunteering as a driver can make a real difference and help bring connection, care, and holiday cheer to someone who needs it most! Bring joy to others this season, one delivery at a time! 😊

Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, assists low-income older adults and adults living with disabilities. Volunteers can assist with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair, and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.

Due to the vulnerable population we serve, volunteers must complete an application form, pass a Washington State Patrol check, and attend an orientation.
