    About Maya’s Hope

We provide life-saving medical care, therapies, basic needs, and educational support to children in the Philippines and Ukraine—especially those with complex medical needs.

    What You’ll Do (Board Responsibilities)

    • Governance & Strategy: Provide oversight, strategic guidance, and thought partnership to the Founder/President.
    • Fundraising & Ambassadorship: Open doors, make introductions, help secure donations/sponsorships, and champion campaigns.
    • Financial Stewardship: Review budgets/financials; support sustainable growth and compliance.
    • Program Support: Advise on cases and care pathways (especially helpful with medical expertise).
    • Community Building: Recruit hosts/sponsors/partners; amplify our mission on your networks.
    • Committee Work: Serve on at least one committee (e.g., Development, Finance, Events).

    • Based in New York City (able to attend periodic in-person meetings and events).
    • Background in Finance, Marketing, Sales, or Medical/Healthcare (nonprofit experience a plus).
    • Relationship-builder with a generous network; comfortable asking for support.
    • Mission-driven, collaborative, responsive.

    Commitment

    • Term: 2 years (renewable).
    • Meetings: 5-7 per year + committee/hosted events as needed.
    • Give/Get: Board members strive for an annual give/get of $7,500 (flexible through personal giving, corporate matches, sponsorships, or peer fundraising).
