    Position: Volunteer Grant Writer

    Location: Remote

    Time Commitment: Flexible; approximately 5-10 hours per week

    About Us:

    Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and fostering community well-being. We provide essential food assistance and resources to individuals and families in need, promoting a healthier and more connected community.

    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. This role is vital in helping us secure funding to expand our programs and services. The ideal candidate will have experience in grant writing, strong research skills, and a keen eye for detail. As a grant writer, you will work closely with our team to identify funding opportunities, craft compelling proposals, and ensure that all submissions align with the mission and goals of Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors. Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. This position is a non-compensated position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities.
    • Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
    • Collaborate with the program and development teams to gather necessary information for proposals.
    • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.
    • Track and document grant outcomes and ensure compliance with funding requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in grant writing or nonprofit fundraising is preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Passion for our mission and a desire to make a meaningful impact in the community.
