    Volunteer Grant Writer – Civic Tech Nonprofit (CEC 501(c)(4))

    The Community Engagement Center (CEC) is a civic-tech nonprofit building tools to strengthen democracy and empower local communities through technology, innovation, and engagement. We are developing the Civic app, a high-tech community center, and creative initiatives that make civic participation more accessible, fun, and impactful for everyday people.

    We are seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer to help us identify, draft, and submit grant applications that will provide crucial funding for our programs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about civic engagement, tech for good, and community impact.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research potential grant opportunities and funding sources
    • Draft compelling proposals and letters of inquiry
    • Collaborate with our founder to refine messaging and align with funder priorities
    • Assist with tracking deadlines and submission requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • Previous grant writing experience preferred (but not required if eager to learn)
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
    • Interest in civic engagement, nonprofit innovation, or tech for social good
