    About The Hope Project for Kids:

    The Hope Project for Kids is a newly established nonprofit dedicated to supporting families with children diagnosed with rare diseases. We provide critical resources, advocacy, and emotional support to families navigating the challenges of rare diseases. Our mission is to empower families by connecting them with information, resources, and a community of support.

    As we grow and work toward providing even more impactful services, we are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families who need it most.

    Position Overview:

    As a Board Member of The Hope Project for Kids, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on guiding the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring its sustainability, and advocating for families with children facing rare diseases.

    We are seeking individuals who have a deep commitment to our mission and bring diverse skills and experiences to the table. This is a volunteer, non-paid position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Guidance: Participate in setting and executing the nonprofit’s long-term strategic plan.
    • Governance & Oversight: Ensure the organization’s financial health, adherence to legal and regulatory standards, and alignment with its mission and vision.
    • Fundraising & Development: Assist in identifying potential funding sources and help cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and key community stakeholders.
    • Advocacy & Networking: Represent the nonprofit in the community and at fundraising or advocacy events, helping to raise awareness about the needs of families with rare diseases.
    • Program Support: Offer insights into program development and improvement to better serve families affected by rare diseases.

    Desired Skills & Experience:

    We are looking for board members with expertise in the following areas (but not limited to):

    • Medical/Healthcare Background (specifically in rare diseases, pediatrics, or healthcare advocacy)
    • Financial & Fundraising Expertise (experience with nonprofit financials, fundraising campaigns, or donor relations)
    • Legal or Compliance Knowledge (experience with nonprofit law, governance, or contract management)
    • Community Outreach or Advocacy (experience working with underserved populations, public policy, or advocacy work)
    • Marketing & Communications (experience in nonprofit marketing, public relations, or social media engagement)
