    Role Overview

    We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Educational Technology & Platform Development to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of our digital learning platforms and educational technology initiatives.

    This volunteer leadership role focuses on overseeing the architecture, functionality, scalability, and accessibility of our digital education ecosystem—including learning management systems, interactive platforms, mobile applications, and digital content delivery tools. You will collaborate closely with curriculum developers, designers, engineers, and leadership to ensure that our technology solutions effectively support music education, engagement, and community impact.

    Commitment: 15–20 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the strategy and execution of educational technology and platform development initiatives.
    • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of digital learning platforms and tools.
    • Define platform architecture, feature roadmaps, and scalability plans.
    • Ensure seamless integration between curriculum content, interactive media, and user experience.
    • Establish data management, security, and accessibility standards across digital platforms.
    • Collaborate with development teams to implement new features and system enhancements.
    • Monitor platform performance, user engagement metrics, and technical reliability.
    • Develop documentation for system architecture, workflows, and technology standards.
    • Identify and implement emerging technologies to enhance digital learning experiences.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience in educational technology, platform development, or digital product leadership.
    • Strong understanding of system architecture, web/mobile platforms, and scalable technology solutions.
    • Experience working with developers and cross-functional technical teams.
    • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive digital design practices.
    • Familiarity with LMS platforms, SaaS environments, or interactive learning systems is preferred.
    • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple initiatives within a remote, volunteer-based team.
    • Passion for arts, music education, and mission-driven technology innovation.
