    Must be based in or familiar with North Carolina nonprofit regulations. Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access.

    Description

    1. Regulatory Compliance (North Carolina & Federal)
    • Ensure compliance with North Carolina nonprofit regulations, IRS 501(c)(3) requirements, and state-level filings.
    • Stay updated on changes in state and federal nonprofit laws affecting WOCOTM.
    • Oversee compliance with employment laws (EEOC, wage & hour, workplace safety) as they apply to staff and volunteers.
    1. Grant & Donor Compliance
    • Monitor and ensure adherence to grant conditions, reporting deadlines, and donor requirements.
    • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and grant-related expenditures.
    1. Policy Development & Oversight
    • Draft, review, and update compliance-related policies such as anti-fraud, whistleblower, conflict of interest, and safeguarding policies.
    • Maintain the employee and volunteer handbook to reflect current laws and best practices.
    1. Training & Awareness
    • Organize compliance training sessions for staff, trustees, and volunteers.
    • Provide guidance on ethical practices, confidentiality, and organizational code of conduct.
    1. Risk Management & Reporting
    • Identify potential compliance risks and recommend mitigation measures.
    • Conduct internal audits and prepare compliance reports for the Executive Director and Board of Trustees.
    1. Data Protection & Confidentiality
    • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and safeguard sensitive organizational and beneficiary information.
