    Organization: FCCP

    Time Commitment: 10–30 hours per week

    Position Overview

    FCCP is seeking Mental Health & Wellness Field Placement Interns to support community-based mental health programming in collaboration with licensed clinicians and wellness professionals. This in-person placement is ideal for students who are required to complete field placement, practicum, or internship hours as part of their academic program.

    Interns will gain hands-on experience working with youth, adults, and families in NYCHA community spaces and NYC Department of Education school environments, while developing practical skills in mental health and emotional wellness services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support licensed mental health professionals during wellness programming
    • Assist with group sessions, workshops, and community-based activities
    • Observe and support mental health and emotional wellness interventions
    • Assist with outreach, engagement, and participant support
    • Help document attendance and program activities
    • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
    • Participate in supervision sessions and required check-ins

    Ideal Candidates

    This role is especially suited for students pursuing degrees in:

    • Psychology
    • Social Work (BSW / MSW)
    • Mental Health Counseling
    • Human Services
    • Community Health
    • Education (Counseling / Youth Development)
    • Sociology or related fields

    Candidates should be:

    • Currently enrolled students or recent graduates
    • Seeking field placement, practicum, or internship hours
    • Comfortable working in community-based and school settings
    • Compassionate, reliable, and professional
    • Able to commit 10–30 in-person hours per week

    Academic Credit
